12/08/2009 | Are you wondering why TechMecca is hosting the Rock Star video contest?

We want to make your company look good, helping to grow your business, and to provide valuable resources and information for our attendees!

The bag of tricks available to marketers is both expanding and evolving today at a rapid rate. Consumers are bombarded from every direction with messages vying for their attention. And, when you get their attention, time is precious. How do you get your message out in a way that attracts business?

Wish I could tell you that there is one magic answer. If you do this one single step, your message will reach your target audience and you will have more business than you will know what to do with. So much for wishes.

Success in today's market place often hinges on our ability to craft a message in such a way as to be tailored uniquely to the channel in which our consumers, customers, or members want to receive it.

One of the channels gaining progressive momentum is the viral video.

"In light of the success of viral videos sponsored by big brand names like Levis' 'Backflip Into Jeans', Gatorade's 'Ball Girl', and Nike's 'Kobe Jumps Over Car', advertisers and agencies are evaluating the value of adding viral video to their online marketing mix", according to Feed Company's "Viral Video Marketing Survey: The Agency Perspective."

This morning, I was reading a blog post by Jeff Bullas on "How Zappos Plans to Use 50,000 Online Videos." He notes that "the use of online video is continuing to grow and develop as higher broadband speeds become more widespread worldwide." Bullas also highlighted the younger generation's trend towards preferring viewing to reading. I'm sad to say, but I believe that's not only limited to the younger generation. He goes on to discuss Zappos' video strategy.

If Zappos, beginning business less than 10 years ago as a shoe company, has been able to attribute growth in business through videos, how might your company do so? How do you visually illustrate the value of your products and services? We have a venue for you! Highlight your "Rock Star" product and service offerings through TechMecca's "Rock Star" video contest.

Will your company be one of the videos spotlighted by TechMecca when banks and credit unions come together in Austin, January 25-26? We want to help you build the buzz about how awesome your offerings are, as well as help our attendees know about leading edge product and service providers.

You can gain further spotlight by taking advantage of exhibit and sponsor opportunities.
